Army SSG Kyle A. Eggers

Army SSG Kyle Eggers died December 5, 2005 when his vehicle was struck by an improvised explosive device (IED) in Al Habanijah, Iraq.

Kyle Eggers was born in Grand Island, Nebraska in 1977. From Nebraska the family moved to Oklahoma in 1988 and settled in Euless, Texas in 1989 where he attended Harwood Junior High School. After graduating from Trinity High School in 1995, Kyle enlisted in the U.S. Army that August.

He was stationed at Scoffield Barracks, Hawaii until 1999. From there, he was stationed at the Yakima Training Center in Yakima Washington, where he met and married the love of his life, Jennifer Giles, in October of 2001. They had three sons; twins Tegan and Kaden 2 1/2 years old, and 1 year old Zane. He was transferred to Camp Greeves, Korea in February 2004 and was then deployed in August to Camp Manhattan in Al Habanijah, Iraq.

Kyle loved life and was a very caring, giving, and loving son, husband, father, brother, and friend. His family’s happiness and well being were very important to Kyle. He treasured the time he shared with his three sons, his wife and all his family, especially his cousins Courtney, Danielle and Ali. Kyle never knew a stranger and made friends wherever he went. He took great pride in serving his country and was honored and to wear the uniform.

Kyle is survived by Wife, Jennifer; Sons, Kaden, Tegan, and Zane of Yakima, Washington; Parents, Keith and Diane Eggers; Sister Kristi; and many extended family members.
