Phil Taylor – President and Founder

Phil Taylor moved to Texas with his parents and two siblings as a young child. His ability to draw and paint was recognized at an early age and, after completing high school, he began working with visual artist Brad Smith, graduate of The Art Institute of Chicago. During this apprenticeship Phil learned large-scale mural execution, graphic design and portraiture. His other artistic influences included Patrick Nagel and Dennis Mukai. This combination of influences and self-development ultimately resulted in Phil’s unique portraiture style of black and white tones with color accents. Some of his earlier portraits include musicians Stevie Ray Vaughan, Michael Hutchence and Keith Urban, with commissioned works including PGA Golf Champion Nick Price, actress Janine Turner, and musician Larry Gatlin. Currently Phil and his wife, Lisa, work and live in the North Dallas area. They have three adult daughters, Natalie, Kori and Jordin.

Garry Granger – Vice President

A Foodservice Executive, Garry has an outstanding record in sales, marketing, procurement and production totaling over 34 years experience. Garry attended Ferrum College in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, where he met his wife and has been married for over 40 years. He has a history of bringing a “spark” to any project and systematically moved up through the ranks to become Senior Vice President for a National Food Company managing sales in excess of $500M. Garry served on the California Strawberry Advisory Board, The Refrigerated Research Foundation, International Fresh-cut Produce Association and he is currently President of his own company, Granger Business Development. Garry is also a graduate of Augusta Military Academy and an active alumnus. He has experience managing 501c3 organizations.


Bill Barnett – Director

Bill is the owner of DFW Bill is a Christian, a national best selling author and radio host of “Real Estate NOW!” For fun, he has served as a scout for a major college football bowl team and spent two years on the pit crew of an Indy Racing League Team. He lives in Fort Worth, Texas, with his wife Kris and their three boys.


Brett Chapman – Director

Brett was introduced to The American Fallen Soldiers Project through former board member Steven Bolos in 2010. Brett is a member of the Dallas Salesmanship Club and an elder at Willowbend Church of Plano. In 1996 Brett founded Foursquare Landscaping Management, which serves the DFW Metroplex area with landscape maintenance, design and irrigation services for corporations and homeowner associations. Brett is married and has two adult children.


Kevin Hodes – Director

Kevin Hodes is founder and CEO of, a nationwide credit card processing company founded in 1999. From inception, Kevin’s purpose for his business has been to bring honesty and integrity to the world of credit card processing. His business success has become so much more than a business. It serves as a vehicle that allows him to maintain strong relationships while giving back to the community. Kevin enjoys scuba diving, spending time with his wife, Sarah, watching his daughter compete in gymnastics and his son play soccer.


Reed Nettles – Director

As CEO/President of HLG Licensing, Reed has been instrumental in developing licensing programs for a host of Fortune 500 clients in the consumer goods industry across multiple categories, grossing over $89 million a year. His leadership has driven the successful business platform at HLG for over 20 years. Reed is well versed in all aspects of corporate strategy, including Marketing, Social Media, E-Commerce and Corporate planning. Reed lives in Tempe, Arizona with his wife, Terri and their two children.


Maj. Gen. Mike Skinner, USAF Retired – Director

Mike Skinner served in the United State Air Force from 1980 until 2013. He was introduced to the Project through a friend and later helped to coordinate a portrait presentation for an USAF Gold Star family. He currently serves as Corporate Vice President of Eurpac Service, Inc, a distribution and marketing services company that serves manufacturers of consumer products. Mike is married and has two adult children.


Lisa Taylor – Director

Lisa manages many aspects of the organization and National Gallery, including the day to day operations, coordinating presentation details and working closely with the families.
